Hi Everyone! I hope you are doing well and finding lots of fun and new things to do while you are home. I have received many messages from you! I have seen some nice illustrations and read many thoughtful and detailed responses to the fairy tales that you have read.

Please view the short video above to review the elements of fairy tales. Here are your assignments for this week:

Grades 3-5: Character traits are adjectives used to describe characters in a story (example: funny, sneaky, happy, thoughtful, etc.) Read Hansel and Gretel and write some character traits for these characters: the woodcutter, the woodcutter’s wife (stepmother), Hansel, Gretel and the witch. Here is a version of the story that you may enjoy, but you are welcome to read your own version.

*IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SENT ME A RESPONSE OF HANSEL AND GRETEL FROM THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS, PLEASE CHOOSE A DIFFERENT FAIRY TALE AND LIST THE MAIN CHARACTERS’ TRAITS.

Grades 1-2: Many fairy tales involve the numbers 3 and/or 7 (example: In Goldilocks there are 3 bears, 3 chairs, 3 bowls of porridge.) Please read ONE of the fairy tales below and tell me one way in which 3 or 7 is important.  You are welcome to use the links below or you may read a different version.
