Note from the Teacher

Hello everyone! We’ve had a wonderful week together. We made some Halloween crafts, made pumpkin slime, painted pumpkins and practiced writing our names, a lot. The kiddos are very excited about the Halloween Parade and Party on Monday. Thank you to Jessica Duffield for coordinating it. We all appreciate all you do for the class. Parents are allowed to attend the parade around the blacktop at 8:30am, however, you must have a background check to attend the classroom party. Please send your child to school wearing their costume on Monday. Also, send a change of clothes for after the party.

Note from the Teacher

Hello everyone! It’s been a fun week of pumpkins and Halloween.  Our trip to the Farmer’s Market was wonderful.  The students loved picking their own pumpkins.  Thank you to the parents that were able to attend with us.

We’ve had lots of fun in the Costume Shop in our dramatic play area.  We made paper plate jack-o-lanterns, carved a pumpkin,  and measured how many pumpkins tall we are.

Note from the Teacher

Hello everyone! Well, we have now finished up our “Apple” theme.  It was lots of fun and now we will be studying pumpkins.  We will be going on our field trip to Farmer’s Market on Friday, October 21st.  Students will get a small pumpkin there.  I will be taking my new wagon J to haul it all back.  This will be lots of fun for everyone.   I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hello everyone! It’s been a wonderful week learning about apples. We have tasted apples, compared sizes of apples, learned parts of an apple and made apple paintings. Hello everyone! We are finished with our “Birthday” theme. We had lots of fun making birthday cupcakes, decorating a cake and having birthday parties.  This week we are learning about apples and fall.  I’d like for each family to send in three apples.  The apples can be red, yellow or green.  We have lots of activities involving apples this week.  Please send apples in on Monday.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello everyone! We finished up our “families” theme.  It was fun learning about each other’s families and sharing our family pictures.  We also, completed our assessments.  I have enclosed a copy of your child’s assessment in their Friday folder.  The assessments are only used for me to evaluate each child’s level and what areas we need to grow in.  I am very pleased with where each student is in each content area.  I have a group of bright, eager students.   Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello everyone!  We are moving right along.  The students are learning so much.  This week we talked about families and how each one is different and special.  We learned where we are in the family; only child, youngest, middle, or oldest child.  We made origami houses and talked about who lives in our house.  We have been building those fine motor skills a lot by using scissors and writing in our journals. We continue to practice writing our names as well.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Note from the Teacher

Hello Everyone!  We have already completed two weeks of school.  The students are making new friendships and enjoying exploring the classroom.  We just finished up our “All About Me” theme.  We measured our shoes, explored our different finger prints and leaned a lot about what makes us the same and what makes us unique.  The students really enjoyed sharing their  “All About Me” projects with each other.

I enjoyed talking with those of you that made it out for parent night Tuesday evening.  It was fun showing you what we do everyday in preschool.
