Note from the Teacher

Hello Everyone!  It was a short week packed full of learning.  We have learned a lot about Community Helpers and all about magnets.  We are continuing to journal about Pumpkin Jack.  He is starting to decompose, and we have lots of sprouts.  Feel free to check him out in our window whenever you have time.  This week our Star of the Week will be Makaylyn Luyster.  We look forward to learning more about her.   Happy Veteran’s Day to all who have served our country.  I am sending home permission slips for our Clay Center field trip on Friday, November 17th.  Please return on Monday.  I am also including a special Life-Skills Note in their Friday folders!

Hello Everyone!  It’s been a busy week for sure.  We finished up all the Halloween festivities and we are ready to learn about Community Helpers.  We have a field trip planned on the Nov. 17th to the Clay Center to go with our theme. Special thank you to the parents/grandparents that came out to the parade and handed out candy.  I would also like to thank Taran and Marisa for all their help this week.  Thank you to the Bond Family for sending in the letter ”H” snack this week.  This past week we celebrated our Star of the Weeks  Birthday.  Happy Birthday Sophia!  We will not have a Letter of the Week or Star of the Week this week, because it’s a four-day week.

Hello everyone!  It’s been a fun week.  We have finished up our pumpkin study and moved into Halloween fun.  The students have been working a lot on writing letters and numbers.  I am very proud of their hard work.  We did several directed drawing projects this week, and the students did such a wonderful job following directions.  Thank you to the Luysterfamily for sending in the ”G” snack this week.  This week our Star of the Week will be Sophia W.

Hello everyone!  We finished up our pumpkin/fall theme with a wonderful field trip to the Farmer’s Market on Friday.  Thank you volunteers for helping out.  The kiddos seem to really enjoy the trip.  This upcoming week we will not be having a Star of the Week due to half day on Monday.  Thank you to the Martin Family for the letter “F” snack this week! Hello everyone! The students have enjoyed learning about pumpkins and fall.  They have really enjoyed hammering golf tees into the pumpkin and playing in our pretend pumpkin patch.  Thank you to the Wolford Family for the ”E” snack this week!  Our Star of the Week will be Livy Johns.  We look forward to getting to know her a little bit more.   I am sending home permission slips for the field trip on Friday.  Please send back asap.  Also, you will find enclosed their school pictures.  I am biased for sure, but they look adorable!!!!

Hello everyone! This week has been full of apple fun.  We have learned the parts of an apple, we have weighed apples, investigated and painted with apples.  The students have enjoyed playing in our apple orchard & market.  We will be doing apple taste testing and making applesauce next week.  Thank you, Annie Cardell, for sending in the letter “C” snack.  We also said goodbye to our sweet friend Olivia H.  Best wishes to her and her family.  We will miss them.

Hello everyone!  This week we finished up our birthday theme with a classroom birthday party.  It was lots of fun.  We also celebrated Olivia H. birthday this week.  Our Star of the Week will be Aiden.  We can’t wait to see what all he shares with us.  This week we will be learning about apples and fall.  We are asking that each student bring in 3 apples by Tuesday.  We are going to do several activities with them, including making applesauce.  Thank you – Amanda W. for sending in the letter B snack last week.  Please don’t forget to go to our classroom Scholastic Book Club and order books for your child, if you want.  The orders are due Sept. 27th.  Our class earns points for every order that go towards classroom books.   I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hello everyone!  We’ve had another wonderful week.  We have learned a lot about the letter A.  Thank you to Hartley’s family for sending in the Letter A Snack this week. We celebrated Aiden’s 5th birthday and enjoyed Evelyn being Star of the Week.  Next week our Star of the Week will be Olivia H.  We had our school pictures taken and enjoyed some fall weather outside on the playground.  We will be having our classroom birthday party on the 22nd to wrap up our birthday theme.  The students have really been enjoying this theme.  It’s one of my favorites too.

Hello Everyone! It has been a short but fun week.  We have talked about our families and our classroom family.  We celebrated Alexander’s birthday, we learned our classroom jobs and learned about weather too.  This week we will be starting our letter bags.  We will be starting with letter Aa.  The letter bag will be your child’s show-n-tell for the week. They are due by Thursdays.  Our Star of the Week will be Evelyn.  Don’t forget the deadline to order books from our Scholastic Book Club is Sept 27th.  Each time you order books, our classroom receives points that will be used towards books for our class.  Also, picture day is Wednesday, September 13th for Pre-K.  Taran Woldford, Homeroom Coordinator, will be reaching out to you about Read Aloud and letter bag snack sign ups.
