Dear Soon-to-be First Graders,
We cannot wait to meet you! We hope you are having a wonderful summer full of adventures! Our favorite adventures come from reading and First Graders should be using books in some way everyday. You can read them, someone can read to you, you can look at pictures and make up the stories, the possibilities are endless!
When you are working on your BINGO board, you do not need to work alone. You can read to complete the square or have someone read to you!

Zoom Meeting tomorrow morning at 9:10-Following Mrs. Malinoski’s announcements!
Reading: 20 minutes DEAR (drop everything and read)
Journals- Write about your favorite memory or memories from First Grade. Be sure to use some adjectives (describing words) in your writing. We will share these journal entries tomorrow during our ZOOM meeting! Start your sentences with an uppercase, end with and end mark and make sure they make sense. Do your VERY BEST work. This is our final journal entry of the year! Draw a picture to match your words that you will share with the class!
English- Khan Academy Kids- Library- Reading- scroll down to Language and do the activity about Adjectives.
**Math- Google Classroom- Lesson 134A- need 4 index cards!
**Writing- English book pages 160 and 161- putting words into groups!

Wednesday, May 20
Reading: 20 minutes DEAR (drop everything and read)
**Writing: Antonyms: English book pages 158 and 159- review!
**English: English Book- page 109- feeling words
**Journal- Write two sentences in your journal about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The first sentence should talk about what was your favorite part in the book. The second sentence should tell why you liked that part. I want to see your sentences start with an uppercase and end with an end mark. The second sentence SHOULD NOT begin with “because”. Please make sure you have 2 complete sentences. Draw a picture to match your sentences.
Religion: May is the month of Mary, the mother of Jesus. Jesus loved Mary very much. Show your love for your mother by helping her with something around the house!

Reading: 20 minutes DEAR (drop everything and read)
**Religion: Think back to the beginning of the year when we talked about Creation- Go outside and explore, take a walk, etc. collect items from God’s creation- Make a picture using things from God’s creation (real grass, leaves, twigs, flowers, etc). This should be finished today! Please send me a picture!
**Writing: Antonyms- English Book page 157
**English: Adjectives-English book pages 107 and 108
**Math- watch the lessons on google classroom. Math worksheet 132A
**Science- Scholastic News- Bear Cub Check up! Read alone or with a grown up. Complete the activity on the back
Read Aloud- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory- chapters 29 and 30
