Religion-We are blessed to be able to see with our eyes and hear with our ears.

Self-Help-zipping our coats, unpacking our backpacks, hanging up our coats on hooks, opening our lunches, cleaning up toys, mask etiquette

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be through Zoom on Feb. 3.  There will be no preschool that day. Please call the school to schedule your conference.

Valentine’s Party-There will be party requests and information sent through Mrs .Reehling. Thank you!

The children will be super excited for the season as our classroom becomes transformed into a Winter Wonderland.  We will hear stories and rhymes, sing songs, make gifts and crafts, and play in our centers.
Our Centers will include:

‘The North Pole’ with a Christmas village in trains/legos,

a ‘Home Sweet Home’ area in dramatic play with a fireplace, Christmas tree, and gingerbread cookies to bake,

a children’s Nativity Set in our ‘religious area’ in blocks,

AND

a ‘Letters to Santa’ writing station in our library center.

Math-counting to 20, patterns, puzzles, sequencing, recognizing numerals, one to one correspondence, sorting, shape recognition, etc…

Religion-Jesus is our King.

Self-Help-unpacking book bags, opening snack items, putting on and zipping coats, cleaning up toys and after self all throughout the day, learning our daily schedule, walking safely places, being kind to one another so he/she becomes a good friend to all

November 16-20, 23 & 24

Theme/Letter-Thanksgiving/Hh and Ii

We will have more hands-on experiences to explore this holiday.  There’s still paper bag turkey centerpieces to make, handprint placemats, toilet tube Pilgrims, Native American clay necklaces and hopefully time for decorating turkey cookies!  We have been busy and having lots of fun!

Math-Counting, sorting, recognizing numerals, one to one correspondence

Religion-Thanksgiving is our “Thank You Day.”  We are thankful to God for families and friends and good things to eat and for all our blessings.

Self -Help-Dressing ourselves-shoes and coats included, opening our bookbags to retrieve snacks, etc…wiping, & cleaning up after play or lunch.  The children are progressing wonderfully.

Theme/Letter-Fall/F and G

As we begin to understand the concept of Thanksgiving, we will be given many opportunities to use our 5 senses to explore the concept concretely. We can use the sights, sounds and smells of Thanksgiving to help appreciate this holiday as a time to say ‘thank you’ to God.

Religion-Thank you dear God for families and friends.

Self-Help-Putting on coats and backpacks, Unzipping lunchboxes and backpacks, opening our food items, wearing a mask properly, resting quietly at nap

PLEASE swap out your child’s emergency outfit in their back pack  for a winter one.

DRESS your child in WARM COATS for outside play. HOODS are especially nice for rainy (Not stormy) days, as we try to get fresh air whenever the weather allows.

Thanks for the Halloween Party supplies. The children really enjoyed the day.

Theme/Letters-Halloween/A-E

Aa we have fun with this holiday, we will be dancing, singing, counting, listening to stories/rhymes, painting, crafting, and playing in our centers/outside.

We have an ABC Scrapbook at school with a fun page we will add for each letter of the alphabet. This week we tasted apples, painted with apples, and told which color apple we liked best for the A page in our book. It will be a wonderful keepsake which your child can use to review their letters and to begin to read the sentences we put in it.

Religion-God gives us people we can love and trust.

Self-Help-zipping, wearing backpacks and masks, wiping, cleaning up toys, sitting safely in our chairs, self-soothing as we rest, manners and respect for others

Halloween Party will be Thursday, October 30, in our classroom.   Details to come from Mrs. Reehling, our room mom.

Theme/Letters-Community Helpers/ABC

We will learn about helpers in the community and our classroom centers will include:  a farm, a construction site,  a hospital/veterinary/dentist office, a library, and a police/fire station.  We will explore through play, crafts, stories, songs, dancing and have lots of fun!  Our sensory boxes will hold feed corn/farm animals and a farmer’s family!  You will hear about the Centers changing for sure.

Religion-We love our families and are thankful for God’s gift of all people.

The children are wonderful and our days have been so fun.  We are becoming familiar with our routines and also behaving so well at play. We are so busy that mostly all the children are tired and do nap.  Thank you for everything.

Theme/Letter-Dinosaurs & Eggs/D & E

We will explore where/when dinosaurs lived and whatever the children want to learn about dinosaurs. This theme is exciting.  Our crafts will include salt dough fossils and dinosaur eggs, Dino stomp painting and more. A fun Science experiment will be hatching our own dinosaur eggs. We will use medicine droppers with water to melt/hatch our frozen balloons/eggs and find baby dinosaurs inside. We will dance, stomp, hear stories and play with lots of dinosaurs.

Self Help-Please practice  putting on and wearing masks on nose and mouth.
Putting on jackets, Wiping after a bm, & Opening snack/lunch

Our first 2 days of ECE were wonderful!  The children are playing, listening, laughing and enjoying each other.   There are many routines and behaviors we practice at the beginning of the year.  The children are doing an excellent job transitioning and adapting to many of our new Covid ways.  What a smooth beginning it’s been!  Thank you for the supplies and all.
