Fourth grade students wiggled their way through the first STEM Friday of the 2018-2019 school year with The Gummy Worm Challenge while kindergarten students created structures and apple volcanoes! The October 4th grade STEM challenge was creating a hut that could sustain high winds. The results: a high success rate of hut durability, learning, and fun!
Johnny Appleseed traveled throughout Pennsylvania, Ontario, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and the lands that would become West Virginia planting nurseries. He would fence them in and leave them in the care of a neighbor who would then sell shares in the trees, and then come back every year or two to tend them. SHGS kindergarteners and first graders celebrated Johnny Appleseed and all things apples this week with many apple learning activities including making delicious homemade applesauce!
SHGS Pre-K students are learning all about construction and the importance of working together as a team!
