Literacy
1.  (Use items in your E-Day Bag). Draw a picture of your favorite part of today’s book in your Composition Book and dictate a sentence about it to your parent (who can write it next to your picture).  Allow children to mimic your writing, if interested.
2.  Pond Sensory Bag
Use a small ziploc baggy with hair gel, green food coloring and glitter.  Tape shut.   Practice writing ABC’s on the bag with finger.
 
3.  What lives in a pond?
Math
1.  Count as high as you can and identify the foam numerals from 1-10 in your E-Day Bag.
2.  One to one correspondence 
Use:  dice, glass gems (from Simple Pond Sensory Play below), or use pompoms, and an egg carton/ice cube tray.
Roll a dice and place that many gems in the egg carton, counting each gem. Repeat rolling dice and counting more gems.
3.  Count the items in your pond below.
Arts/Sciences
1.  Simple Pond Sensory Play
Use a shallow bin and fill with ‘pond life’ toys and water.  Add plastic turtles, frogs, fish, snakes, worms, clear glass gems (dollar store), moss, dragonflies, etc…and set bin on towels for inside play.  Tell stories about your pond while you play.
 
2.  Dragonfly Stick Craft
Need-  coffee filters, 5” stick, watercolors, yarn/twine
Paint 2 coffee filters and set aside to dry. (They flap easily in wind for fun play.)
Wrap twine around stick to make dragonflies thorax.  Tie knot at end to secure.
Glue a craft gem at end of stick for dragonflies’ head.
Cut out 4 wings from filters and glue to stick.
Once dry, hang up dragonfly or play with it outside!
