From the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston: As many of you are aware, the Diocese of Steubenville, Ohio, recently released a list of priests who have been credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. Included in the list were the names of priests who have been stationed near, or who have celebrated liturgies and other events at parishes within the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, including our Catholic Schools. The Diocese encourages anyone who may be the victim of abuse by one of these priests, or any priest in the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, to contact your local authorities or the Diocesan Office of Safe Environment at (304) 233-0880.  Diocese of Steubenville Release.

You are invited to…


WHO? Each prospective student applying for grades 2-5
WHEN? Call the office (346-5491) to arrange for a day-long visit
WHERE? Sacred Heart Grade School
Enter using Leon Sullivan Way entrance steps –
go to the school office on first floor
WHY? To acquaint students with Sacred Heart Grade School and with a typical day’s experience
WHAT? Students will be introduced to our principal, Mrs. Malinoski, the office personnel, and finally their teacher for the day. They will follow a regular schedule of classes. At the end of the day, students will meet briefly with Mrs. Malinoski, to discuss any further questions they may have.
WHAT DO I WEAR? Remember, SHGS students will be in uniform and therefore it is important to dress appropriately (no jeans, please). After spring break, students are permitted to wear shorts that are mid-thigh or longer.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Paper, pencil, pen, backpack, and a snack for morning break. Additionally, students may bring a bag lunch, or enjoy a hot lunch on us.
WHERE DO I GO IN THE MORNING? To the office on the first floor at 7:45 a.m., Leon Sullivan Way entrance.
WHEN AND WHERE SHOULD I BE PICKED UP? 2:45 p.m. at the office
PARKING? Park at any meter that is available on the street.
